I mentioned about the memory because I see you are currently running memory out of specifications and this will affect processor performance.

Please start by testing different memory.

Allan.

I have noticed that ever since i got my i7-6700 it hasn't been performing very well. in the 3d mark and i only scored about 3900 in the cpu benchamark which is a lot lower than the average fro the i7-6700. i have tried several different things like reinstalling all my motherboard drivers and changing my power saving settings but nothing has seemed to work. my cpu temperatures are also not high so it isnt thermal throttling. i have run the IntelProcessor Diagnostic Tool but everything passed the test.i would appriciate it very much if someone could help me.

Specs:

i7-6700 3.4 Mhz (turboclock 3.8 Mhz)

z-170a PC MATE

Gtx 1080

16gb ddr4 ram

650w cooler master psu

Hi,

I have a similar issue, especially noticeable in games. When rendering CPU-intensive scenes, GPU usage drops from 99% to 50%, while CPU usage stays the same (50-55%). Lowering graphics settings does not affect framerate at all, and CPU/GPU usage remains the same. So it looks like CPU bottlenecks my GPU.

All the benchmarks for similar specs show much higher framerates and higher GPU usage.

Please, advise, what may be causing this issue?

All 4 cores/8 threads are active

IntelProcessor Diagnostic Tool - pass

All power plans set to "high performance"

CPU temps are ~40-50 C

Specs:

i7 6700K @4.5GHz

ASUS Z170 AURA PRO Gaming

16Gb DDR4 @ 2400MHz

ASUS ROG GTX 1080

750W Corsair PSU

Games are rendered at 1080p

It might be RAM issue. Please bear in mind the memory controller hub supports up to 2133 Mhz at 1.35V and it seems you are overclocking the processor. Are you getting same issue working at stock settings.

Allan.

Hi,

An example of poor performance is that when i am running games that are cpu intesive i tend to get a much lower framerate than what i should be getting. Here also for example: https://goo.gl/rzVsfZ https://goo.gl/rzVsfZ someone with the i7 6700, with a cpu score of 4700 whilst i only get around 3900: https://goo.gl/tsNvZB https://goo.gl/tsNvZB

This type of performance will depend on the memory, SSD speed and even thermal conditions of the computer. If you think there is a problem with the processor, I recommend checking with your place of purchase for warranty options.

Allan.

i have 16gb of memory and and i have tested my ssd speed and everything seems to be totaly fine. also my cpu dosen't go above 60c under heavy load so i highly doubt that is causing my issue. i would really appriciate if i could get some help regarding my problem rather than rust going to my purchasers warranty options.
