I have no idea why you posted. The issue is resolved and it was a bad processor. I already have a replacement from Intel.

Build Gigabyte Z170XP-SLI, Skylake 6320, (4x4) Corsair DDR4 3000, EVGA GTX 960, and a Samsung 950 Pro. Built last summer. It worked great till December 14th. Video crashed several times and then Device Manager code 43 disabled the video card. I was still able to view one of the two monitors with Windows standard VGA driver. There were stray artifacts in the screen view though. Tried the onboard video and it was so bad it wasn't viewable for diagnostics. Tried a new video card Gigabyte GTX 1060. No improvement. Pulled 2 of 4 sticks of memory out. Tried 8 gigabytes in slot 2 and 4. No improvement. Pulled those two sticks and inserted the other two 4gb modules in slot 1 and 3. No improvement. Updated the board Bios from F6 to F20. No improvement. Wiped the hard drive and reinstalled Windows 10 not connected to the internet. Installed the motherboard drivers from the disk. Installed nVidia drivers from disk. Same issue with no improvment. Decided to try a new motherboard. EVGA Z170-ftw. No improvement again with either the GTX 960 or GTX 1060. Onboard video is still not viewable with either motherboard. Tested the power supply and it is good. Put another power supply in rated for SLI. Still no improvement. Removed the Samsung 950 pro. connected a Samsung 830 EVO and installed windows 10 again. No improvement. So far the only thing consistent from test to test is the Skylake 6320. Can it be the cause of the various video systems not working?

Thank you. I ran the Intel diagnostic tool last week and again now. It says pass but I have no idea after everything I've changed what else it could be. The only thing I saw in the first test and this one is: Integrated Graphics Device not tested. When I try to install Intel graphics driver it says: Device not supported.

System Information

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro(10.0.14393 Build 14393)

Physical Memory (Installed): 16 GB

Processor : Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-6320 CPU @ 3.90GHz

System Type: x64-based PC

Display Adapter(s): NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB 21.21.13.7290

System Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.

System Model: Z170XP-SLI-CF

Network Adapter(s): Bluetooth Device (Personal Area Network) # 3 # 2 # 2 10.0.14393.321

Intel(R) Ethernet Connection (2) I219-V # 2 12.15.22.6

Disk(s): Generic- USB3.0 CRW-CF/MD USB Device 0.0 bytes (available) 10.0.14393.0

Generic- USB3.0 CRW-MS USB Device 0.0 bytes (available) 10.0.14393.0

Generic- USB3.0 CRW-SD USB Device 0.0 bytes (available) 10.0.14393.0

Generic- USB3.0 CRW-SD/MS USB Device 0.0 bytes (available) 10.0.14393.0

Generic- USB3.0 CRW-SM/xD USB Device 0.0 bytes (available) 10.0.14393.0

NVMe Samsung SSD 950 342.24 GB (available) 10.0.14393.0

SAMSUNG SSD 830 Series 216.33 GB (available) 10.0.14393.0

ST3500630AS 393.56 GB (available) 10.0.14393.0

WD My Passport 0820 USB Device 518.91 GB (available) 10.0.14393.0

Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool

--- IPDT64 -

I hope you can see the artifacts in the screen shot. I have no idea since they are present all the time. This is using the default Microsoft display driver. If I install any other driver I get a blue screen. It doesn't stay on long enough for me to write them all down. When I attempted to install the NVidia drivers I received this blue screen. System Thread Exception not handled. aacenter.exe Access Violation address 0040D509 Read of address 001AC65C.

Well I pulled the picture up at work from this thread. The video screen artifacts are not showing up. They look sort of like the computer simulations in the movie Matrix. Just little green dots that seem to move down the screen. Very noticeable on the black background in the image.

If this happens, my suggestion is to contact the technical support from Gigabyte.

http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/support-downloads.aspx Technical Support contact for Gigabyte

There you can confirm if there is any update or additional driver that you may need to install, and if it is required you can ask for additional technical support.

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Angie

I feel like your not really paying attention to me. The flashing video is the Intel graphics. The other video is the artifacts using the Nvidia based Gigabyte GTX 1060. It also does the same thing with an nVidia based EVGA GTX 960.

Everything you listed has been tried already. The Intel onboard (chip) video display is the latest driver you listed. The nVidia drivers will not work at all. Only the Windows 10 standard display driver works for me to see the screen.

Windows 10 has been tried installed from scratch on two different formatted drives. Same problem.

Two different Motherboards have been tried. The Gigabyte Z170XP - SLI and an EVGA Z170 ftw The onboard Intel video and the nVidia based cards looked exactly the same on either board. So it cannot be a motherboard manufacturer problem.

Two different video card brands have been tried. An EVGA GTX 960 and a Gigabyte GTX 1060 so it cannot be a video card manufacturer problem. If it was an incompatibility problem the on-board Intel display wouldn't be affected.

Two sets of memory sticks have been tried in different slots on both motherboards. It cannot be a memory problem.

Two different brands of 500 watt power supplies have been tried so it cannot be a power problem.

different software and installations have been tried. It cannot at this point be a software problem. The display problems also show up at boot start before the operating system starts.

It cannot be a Bios problem since I used two different motherboards and updated the Bios on one.

I have two monitors and each has been tried separately with different cables. It cannot be a monitor problem. Also only one monitor will work at a time.

Lastly, the system worked fine for 6 months. Nothing had been changed when the video system failed. Any software change would have been undone with a new installation of Windows 10 which I have done twice on two different hard drives.

It cannot be something connected to the motherboard because I have tried it with nothing connected but the boot drive and a DVD RW drive.

Nothing makes any sense but a processor failure of some sort.

I have ordered Intel Skylake 6320 processor. I will let you know if the problem is fixed or not.

One more thing, I'm getting random blue screen crashes of windows. last one was "unexpected store exception". Last before that was "System Thread Exception". Thanks for getting back to me though.

I received my new Skylake 6320 today. I am happy to report my computer is now fixed. The processor was indeed bad causing the video problems. Now how do I RMA the one that is less than a year old?

Getting System Thread Exception not handled error in Windows is mostly related to corrupted files or damaged drivers. I would recommend reinstalling graphics driver, especially when you use Nvidia.

Furthermore, using sfc /scannow command in cmd.exe to scan your system files, detect whether there is any corrupted file and then repair them.

https://usefulpcguide.com/16886/fix-system-thread-exception-not-handled-error/ How To Fix System Thread Exception Not Handled Error

I have no idea why you posted. The issue is resolved and it was a bad processor. I already have a replacement from Intel.
