100% cpu usage while playing

My cpu (i5 4670k) usage is always at 100% while playing games. I realized it after changing my gpu(gtx 1070) because my performance didnt increase. The cpu temperatures arent very high (around 55-58 celsius) and my gpu usage is also not more than 80%.

The cpu is at stock (3.4ghz). In games like mafia 3 i get max 73 fps and min 25 fps, in bf4 my fps jump around from 55-100fps and i cant even reach 200 fps in csgo. I always play on 1080p. My cpu usage sometimes hits 40% when i only watch videos on youtube and its around 10-15 while writing this.

Hello Nick55,

Is your CPU an Intel® i5-4670k or an Intel® i5-4590? I because based on the msinfo you uploaded the CPU is the Intel® i5-4590 and your system a DELL OptiPlex 3020.

If you launch your task manager, what is the CPU usage when playing games, could you please that on this thread and the correct processor model? Check on the task manger what application is demanding more usage.

Make sure you PC is up to date, run Windows update and install the latest drivers from you system manufacturer website and as well update your computer BIOS.

Hi,

What I think is that the games you are playing are heavy games and they require more usage when running these games.

I can see the http://www.pcgamer.com/mafia-3-system-requirements/ Mafia 3 system requirements, and you will need a video card for better performance, if I understand, after you install the video card you do not get this behavior anymore, correct?

Try installing the latest graphics driver, for Windows 7 you can download it here:

Do you have the latest BIOS version install on this machine?

Is there a lot of bloat-ware on your computer? Bloat-ware are programs that are installed by the manufacturer that most people don't use and can slow down a PC or make the CPU work harder than it should. Most likely, having a bunch of different tasks running is probably the problem. The solution would be to uninstall unneeded software and then see where that takes you.
