Intel Core i5 2500K specs say it's a quad core CPU yet Device Manager says it's dual core

Noticed that the online computer specs (http://ark.intel.com/products/52210/Intel-Core-i5-2500K-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_70-GHz http://ark.intel.com/products/52210/Intel-Core-i5-2500K-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_70-GHz) for the Intel Core i5 2500K processor say it is a quad core processor. I just looked on Device Manager under the Processor tab and it only lists 4 items, which according to this site (https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/How-can-I-tell-if-I-have-a-quad-processor/td-p/1692615 https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/How-can-I-tell-if-I-have-a-quad-processor/td-p/1692615) that means it is a dual core CPU. "To verify that your system is quad core enabled, go to the Windows Device Manager and under 'Processors' you should see 8 lines of 'Intel(R) Core(TM) http://ark.intel.com/products/52210/Intel-Core-i5-2500K-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_70-GHz i5-2500K CPU @3.3 GHz' or something similar. This indicates that your CPU has 4 cores and can run 8 threads."

Why would Device manager say it's a dual core processor yet specs tell me differently?

The Intel® Core™ i5-2500K Processor is a quad-core processor (it has 4 physical cores) and does not have Hyper-Threading technology.

The HP link you provided shows information on a different processor, Intel® Core™ i7-3770 Processor. This processor has http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/architecture-and-technology/hyper-threading/hyper-threading-technology.html Intel® Hyper-Threading Technology. If Hyper-Threading technology is disabled, you will only see 4 cores in the device manager, and if Hyper-Threading technology is enabled, you will see 8 cores. The device manager will display the number of cores plus the number of threads (if there is Hyper-Threading and if it is enabled).
