Upgrading Intel Core2 6420@2.13GHz CPU

First my apologies if this is not the correct place for my question. I have searched FAQ's etc and can not find the help iI'm looking for:

I have the following system:

Asus P5B Deluxe WiFi motherboard

2GB Crucial Memory (I hope to upgrade to a further 2x1GB making 4GB in total)

Radeon X1950 Graphic card with 1.2GB memory

M-Audio Delta 44 sound card

Antec TP3-650 power supply

I would like to upgrade the CPU to the fastest available that my MB supports. Can anyone advise on a CPU which would be happy with the rather old MB?

Any help would be much appreciated

I would recommend contacting the motherboard manufacturer so they can provide you a list of fully supported processors for your motherboard.

After they provide you the list of supported processors, you can check for the features of any of our processors at:

It depends on your $$$ But that board will support almost every Intel 775 CPU , Up to and including Q9650. 1333FSB , 3.0 Quad.
