Hi everyone!I am a student at the University of the Aegean in Greece to on the Department of Information & Communication Systems Engineering ! In this semester i had a lesson called "Computer Architecture". So, our professor told us to look to find the processor architectures of the series i3/5/7 and the architecture of a processor pentium 4!! The reason that i ask you is that i could not find something like that somewere else! I would be grateful if someone sent me some aggregates e-mail me because this time I give exams in this course and I need because the teacher told us that we need to know the architectures of these processors.

Does your professor believe in "trick" questions?

The simplest and most correct answer is "Intel Architecture" for both families for processors you mention as compared to Power, or AMD or RIS processors.architecture

Within the 2 processors families there are a world of differences and each have some unique architural instruction sets and micro achitecture.

The processor data sheets go into detail

http://download.intel.com/design/processor/datashts/320834.pdf http://download.intel.com/design/processor/datashts/320834.pdf

http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/category/processors/pentium4/doc_guide http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/category/processors/pentium4/doc_guide

however, this page gives you a much quicker comparison of the major micro architecture features.

He may also be looking for the shift to QPI in the i3/5/7 framily which complety changes the old front side bus configutation.
