CPU: i5-6600k @ 3.5ghz MOBO: MSI z170a GPU: MSI R9 390 RAM: 2x 8GB OS: Windows 10 home 64bit

I built this PC about 5months ago for gaming and everything was going fine until about 2weeks ago, every game i play is getting super low fps so i tried stress testing with "prime95" and my CPU wont go above 22% even if i open multiple games with the stress test running I tried reinstalling windows and reset my bios but its still happening, my temps are around 25-30c

Hello Harmedore2,

Thank you for contacting the Intel community.

Well, you can try going down to the bottom right corner of the screen and looking for an icon that shows a battery and click on it. Chances are it is set to Power Saver. If that is on, it will turn your clock speed down. So when you are on it, look for one called "High Performance mode". If it is not there click on, "More Power Plans". And click on an arrow that will allow you to click on that power plan. Therefore that will boost your clock speed.

Also, make sure your BIOS is running at default settings and that is up to date and as well as all of your drivers from your computer manufacturer website. Check in your BIOS that all cores are enabled.

If that does not work, try removing you video card and use only the graphics from the processor, if you need the graphics driver for the processor you can download it here:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26563/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-15-45-?product=88345 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26563/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-15-45-?product=88345

Try that troubleshooting if you could and do your tests to see how it goes.

I hope that can help.

Best regards,

Ivan.

Being that the case, try the https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/19792/Intel-Processor-Diagnostic-Tool Intel® Processor Diagnostic Tool, the purpose of the Intel® Processor Diagnostic Tool is to verify the functionality of an Intel® Microprocessor. The diagnostic checks for brand identification, verifies the processor operating frequency, tests specific processor features, and performs a stress test on the processor.

Regards,

Ivan.
