topic IPDT64 (Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool) deadloop, HW failure? in Mobile and Desktop Processors

Hello,

On first use I was able to finish the diagnostics with success but later on repeated diagnostics it seems not to finish, ie. the progressbar overgrows the scale waiting for reading cache size, then window silently closes leaving its child process (IPDT64 running in background). What's the problem and might this signal a CPU defect? Any feedback would be appreciated. Log from status pane before the window closes:

---------------------------

--- Testing Processor 1 ---

---------------------------

--- IPDT64 - rev 1.29.0.0.MP ---

--- Start Time: 12/15/2013 14:01:23---

--- Skipping Config ---

--- Reading CPU Manufacturer ---

Expected --> GenuineIntel

Detected --> GenuineIntel

Found --- Genuine Intel Processor ---

--- Temperature Test ---

Executing Temperature ...

46 degrees C below maximum.

Temperature Test Passed!!!

Temperature Test Complete!

PASS

--- Reading Brand String ---

Detected Brand String:

Intel Core i7-4700MQ   2.40GHz

Brand String Test Passed!!!

52 degrees C below maximum.

--- Reading CPU Frequency ---

Expected CPU Frequency is --> 2.40

Detecting CPU Frequency  ...

Detected CPU Frequency is --> 2.3945

CPU Frequency Test Passed!!!

45 degrees C below maximum.

--- FSB NOT Supported on this Processor ---

40 degrees C below maximum.

--- Running Base Clock test ---

Calculating the base operating frequency...

Ratio...24

Expected Base Clock --> 100 MHz

Detected Base Clock --> 99.771 MHz

Tolerance accepted --> 5 %

Base Clock test Pass---

50 degrees C below maximum.

--- Running QPI Test  ---

..QPI rate Test not supported..

..Skipping QPI rate Test..

51 degrees C below maximum.

--- Running Floating Point test ---

MFLOPS       CycleRun     CycleVerified     Error       Time(sec)

115.2          8            8              0           1

316.8          30            30              0           2

Million Floating Points per Second, MFLOPS --> 316.8

Error --> 0

Floating Point Test Pass---

49 degrees C below maximum.

--- Running Prime Number Generation Test ---

Ops Per Sec CycleRun CycleVerified Error Time(sec)

3322895              5              5            0              1

2658316              9              9            0              2

Operation Per Second --> 2658316

Error --> 0

Prime Number Generation Test Pass---

46 degrees C below maximum.

--- Reading Cache Size ---

.

.

.

.

I'm having this exact issue. I've requested a new CPU as mine was purchased within the last 30 days but I would really appreciate INTEL providing an answer. Thanks in advance.
