Hello everyone.

I want to learn that does i7 series(laptops) have an overheat protection when it reaches a certain high temperature?

I really want to know the details,thanks a lot.

Hi Abre: Thank you very much for joining the Intel® Processors communities.

In regard to your inquiry, the Intel® processors have a feature to protect the system from overheating. What that feature does is that if the processor gets really hot it will turn the PC off automatically to avoid any damage on the components. When the computer gets overheated it will start to throttle and getting freeze, those are the main symptoms. In this case since you are using a laptop we recommend to get in contact directly with the manufacturer of it so they can confirm the above information and for them to provide additional details on this regard, since the laptop might include different features to protect the system from overheating.
