Hi;

Recently, I've had a problem:

I hadn't opened up Intel Extreme Tuning Utility for a while now, but, a couple of days ago, I opened it up because I wanted to see a few things in it, and, while it was opening, my PC crashed and it displayed a Blue Screen (STOP error) with the following information on it:

Stop Code: KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

What went wrong: icodbios2.sys

I hadn't tweaked any setting on XTU nor overclocked my proccesor, in fact, I have an i7 7700, and it was running with Intel Turbo disabled (@3,60 GHz) and I know also it wasn't anything related to temperature.

I've tried to reinstall the program directly form the disk that came with the motherboard, but I got the same exact error.

As mentioned earlier, my CPU is a i7 7700 (not K). My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-H270M-DS3H, and my OS Windows 10.

I hope that you could help me solve this problem.

Thanks a lot for your answers, and have a nice day.

Miguel

Hello milo8505,

I understand that you are getting a BSOD when you open the Intel ® Extreme Tuning Utility.

Regarding this, I would like to first start by uninstalling the software completely from the system, since you are in Windows 10 then you need to go to settings > apps. From there you can uninstall it, once it has been fully uninstalled, please download the new version from the link below:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24075/Intel-Extreme-Tuning-Utility-Intel-XTU-?product=66427 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24075/Intel-Extreme-Tuning-Utility-Intel-XTU-?product=66427

When the installation is complete, please restart your computer and attempt to open the program once again.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

David V
