Difference PCIe 3.0 compatibility/performance betwen Xeon E5-26xx V1, V2, V3 and V4 ?

Hi,

I will like to build 2 server with 2 Xeon and 4 graphic cards with SLI mode.

A first server will be with Dual Xeon E5-2687W V1 and ASUS Z9PE-D8 WS, the second with Dual Xeon E5-2697 V3 and SuperMicro X10DRG-Q.

For do it, i need 2 motherboard accepting true 4 way SLI x16PCIe.

On Asus there are this information " Full PCIe 3.0 performance requires a 22nm CPU " :

Xeon E5-2687w V1 are 32nm.

Asus council to contact Intel for to Know if our CPU can create or not " Full PCIe 3.0 performance ".

I dont't find any information in Datasheet or other about this subjet with Xeon E5 26xx, V1 and V2 and V3 and V4.

I will like to know if Xeon E5-2687W V1 and Xeon E5-2697 V3 can benefit at the maximum of " Full PCIe 3.0 performance "?

I will like to know if there are a diffence of performance/benefit betwen Xeon E5 V1 and V2 and V3 and V4 about PCIe 3.0 SLI performance ?

And next V5?

Where i can find this information and to recognize this information in Intel documents Xeon E5 ?

Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

Since the PCI Express 3.0 is a standard, it means that there isn't any difference in compatibility/performance on the processors that support it, the Intel® Xeon® Processor E5-2687W will perform the same as the Intel® Xeon® Processor E5-2697 v3.

To know if a processor supports PCIe 3.0 you can check the following link:

http://ark.intel.com/ ark.intel.com > Processors > Intel® Xeon® Processors > Choose the Family > Choose the Processor > Expansion Options > PCI Express Revision.

As for the SLI support, it depends on the motherboard and the graphics cards being used.
