Hello ,

i am looking into entry-level server processors, and comparing these two.

I have two questions.

one processor cost more then 50$ then the other, yet the cheaper one has an extra GPU. is that considered a loss in the server processor criteria , or the price deference goes to the 100 MHZ extra from the 1271 v3?

my second question is , "Embedded Options Available"

i have tried to understand what that means , as other E3 made a year before has that , and if any one can elaborate what that means in the real world , that would be great.

Based on the chart, I see the price difference is related to the Graphics Controller and the 100MHz on processor frequency. It seems the Intel® Xeon® Processor E3-1246 v3 comes with onboard graphics meaning that do not need a discrete graphics card. On the other hand the Intel® Xeon® Processor E3-1271 v3 does not have the graphics controller so you will need to get a graphics card.

i am sorry kevin , stating the obvious is the wrong answer here. :-(

i did understand same as you which processor has the GPU, and wich does not ,

the question is , i repeat, why does the one with the GPU cost ₪195 less then the one with the gpu.

It does'nt make sense .

as for the Embedded options, its a little bit more clear, but still cryptic.

The prices you see in ark.intel.com are correct. The difference in price is due to the additional 100MHz in frequency. We have provided feedback to our pricing team since the price differential seems high for these very similar processors.
