Can anyone point me in the right direction to find information on ram compatibility for LGA771 & LGA775 cpu's?

Memory compatibility for processor with LGA775 and LGA771 depends on the motherboard maker. Those processor sockets do not integrate MCH or memory controller hub, this means, the board maker provides memory compatibility information.

Thanks for your reply.

The following is a direct quote from Corsair 'The newer memory is currently higher density which will not be compatible with your CPU.'

There clearly seems to be some confusion regarding this issue even with the makers of ram.

For memory compatibility with motherboards with LGA 771 and LGA775, I recommend contacting the board maker.
