Is the T5300 compatible?

I'm tyring to quickly beef up a 3 year-old laptop. I can't find the motherboard number, and I'm too lazy to open it up. I know it has an Intel Celeron M 430 in it, but that is a single core. I looked for a dual core with the same FSB as it, and the T5300 looks like a good, cheap choice. The problem is I don't know if it'll work. From what I've gathered online, the 430 is a socket 478 and 478-pin micro FCPGA. Now, the T5300 is a socket 479 and 478-pin micro FCPGA. As far as I know, I just need the same socket processor. Is the T5300 the same socket as the 430?

Sources:

http://4kcomputer.com/index.php/intel-celeron-m-430-1-73ghz-socket-m-sl9kv.html?___store=default http://4kcomputer.com/index.php/intel-celeron-m-430-1-73ghz-socket-m-sl9kv.html?___store=default

http://en.kioskea.net/guide/details/617839-intel-celeron-m-430-1-73-ghz-socket-478-533-mhz-bus-in-a-box http://en.kioskea.net/guide/details/617839-intel-celeron-m-430-1-73-ghz-socket-478-533-mhz-bus-in-a-box

http://review.zdnet.com/product/processors/intel-core-2-duo-t5300--173-ghz-processor--mobile-/32461017 http://review.zdnet.com/product/processors/intel-core-2-duo-t5300--173-ghz-processor--mobile-/32461017

Without opening it up or getting more info, you have to get the 478 uFCPGA and hope it's OK.

I could open it up, but I just hate all the screws on laptops.

Why would a uFCPGA be my best choice?

The 430 can be either 478 or uFCPGA, assuming yours is a uFCPGA then the uFCPGA T5300 would fit. The 479 T5300 won't fit. If your laptop has a 478 then your stuck with whatever is the fastest chip in the 478 socket.

Ok, here we go. It seems they're both the same socket. That's good. I'm just worried that the T5300 has a voltage 7W higher than the 430. We'll see.

I got the detailed specs from here:

http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Celeron_M/Intel-Celeron%20M%20430%20LF80538NE0301M%20%28BX80538430%29.html

http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Core_2/Intel-Core%202%20Duo%20Mobile%20T5300%20LF80537GE0302M.html
