      <description>&lt;P&gt;Not possible in so many ways.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;OL&gt;&lt;LI&gt;Not socket compatible&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;Not chipset compatible&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;Not bios compatible&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;existing processor may be soldered to motherboard&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;/OL&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Compare both processors here:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;A href="https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/compare.html?productIds=65708,47663"&gt;https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/compare.html?productIds=65708,47663&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Now, for any upgrade, the bios has to support the new processor.  Only the laptop manufacturer can tell you this.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;My opinion?  It is simply not worth it for a laptop this old.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Doc&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
