In reference to your question, when applying correctly the Liquid Metal thermal grease will help to reduce processor temperatures. For this specific scenario, since you are using a laptop, actually what we recommend to do is to get in contact directly with the manufacturer of it, they build it and they know all the components that the computer contains, based on that they will be able to provide the best thermal solution for their products.
