Processor upgrade

I have a Asus P5LP-LE (HP Limestone GL8E) motherboard and would like to upgrade the processor. Board specs claim can upgrade to Pentium D (Smithfield) 3.2 GHZ. Will an E6600 or E6750 work with this board. Thank you, Dale

Wanted to edit my orignal post, have not posted before. The chipset on this board is the 945G. I hope this info might help.

Your best bet is to go to HP Partsurfer and see what model CPUs were offered with your computer. That will tell you what CPU that you can upgrade to.

Hi Robert, Thank you for the response to my question. Checked the data again and found the PentiumD(smithfield) 3.2 ghz is the best in will handle. The stores I have checked with don't give the info about the model, (Smithfield,etc). So I will check with Intel for that information. Thanks again for the help.
