If the two processors use the same socket type I would think they would swap without any issues.

I currently have a HP/Compaq nc6320 laptop which has a T5500 Intel processor. I have a HP/Compaq nc6400 laptop with a T2400 intel processor and unfortunately the laptop is not in good shape but the processor is fine. Since i am not able to run Windows 7 XP mode with my current processor, i would like to swap my T5500 with the T2400.

Is it possible and will the laptop function? I believe they use the same chipsets.

Seriously, over 100 people have looked at this thread and not one reply. I just want to know whether or not I am going to fry my laptop or not if I do this swap. Can anybody give me some advice?
