I have recently re-installed my OS (Windows 10 Pro x64). ITBM was installed natively, but it keeps giving me an error saying that the driver cannot be found. I went to my motherboard's manufacturer's website and downloaded the latest verion of the software, but when ever I try to install it, it tells me "install failed". If I try to manually install the driver, it works, but if I reboot my system it gives me the same ITBM drivers not found message again. I download an app that scans my drivers, and it says that the ITBM device is unplugged. I have updated my OS to the lastest version (1909). I have updated all my drivers using Asus's native drivers for this motherboard (x299 TUF Mark 2). How is that possible?

Here's what the app reported. Just for fun I also tried the Intel Driver Support Assistant as I noticed it as a suggestion while downloading the Intel System Support Utility. It came back telling me it found no INTEL hardware on my computer... :/

I would assume so. Before I re-installed Windows, ITBM was loading up just fine. But immediately after my first boot after the installation was finished, I got that error message. I did all the windows updates and installed all the latest asus drivers for my motherboard. As soon as I got to the asus ITBM installer, it wouldn't go. Then I noticed that there was a new BIOS update, so I updated my BIOS just in case it was that that was causing the problem. That was 5 days ago. Just in case, the very last step I did yesterday was to load bios defaults. NO dice... Still getting the error.

Which I already did. As I explained twice now. Thank you for your help, but I think I'd rather wait for an intel support person to reply. Too many chefs trying to cook in the same pot... I'm sure you understand.

VeNOM3099, Thank you for posting in the Intel® Communities Support.

Just to let you know, the Intel® ITBM (Intel® Tubo Boost Max) Technology is natively install at the moment when you do the Operating System installation, in this case Windows*.

We always recommend to install the drivers provided by the manufacturer of the computer, since those drivers were customized by them work with your specific system.

I looked in ASUS's web site, and the proper driver for your platform is Intel® Turbo Boost Max Technology version 1.0.0.1031, is that the driver version currently installed in your computer?

https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/TUF-X299-MARK-2/HelpDesk_Download/

The Intel® Core™ i9-9820X Procesor works with Intel® Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0, from our side, we can confirm there is no need to install any driver for the application/feature to run in your computer, as you can confrim in the following link:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000021587/processors.html

So, if you are still having problems with the application/feature, then, even though you mentioned that you already did it, what we suggest is a clean installation of Windows* to try to fix this problem, please back up any important information before re-installing the Operating System.

Another option will be to get in contact directly with ASUS or Microsoft support for further technical assistance on this matter, since ASUS is the one providing the driver and it should be natively install with the OS.

https://www.asus.com/support/

https://support.microsoft.com/

Any questions, please let me know.

Regards,

Albert R.

Intel Customer Support Technician

A Contingent Worker at Intel

Thanks for the reply, Albert!

In the meantime that I was waiting for a reply, I did go ahead and re-install my OS. I can happily report that I no longer get the error message about the missing driver, but now it seems that the entire Turbo Boost service is gone. I tried to install it manually, but it just gives me the "installation failed" message when I do. I tried contacting Asus, support but they simply told me to re-install the drivers on their support site.

At this point, I am just happy that I don't have any more error messages popping up when I turn on my PC, so for the time being I'll just let it be. Hopefully at some point soon there will be an answer. Thanks for the assist, everyone.
