Hi Doc,

Thanks again. I'm not seeing the box where you can type in the Step Code and see the part number. Those links take me to a page with general categories of products. It doesn't matter. I appreciate your support.

Thanks!

SLLNG is the spec code. Look under "ordering and compliance" information here:

https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/94030/intel-jhl6240-thunderbolt-3-controller.html

Your second question is subjective.

Doc

Hi, Is there a link to a place where you can type in the step code (spec code) and see the Intel ordering part number? Yes, my second question is subjective. But if you ask 50 people and 90% give you the same answer, then it's more than an opinion. For comparison, check out On Semi or Texas instruments to see how you can navigate so easily through their website to see all the information related to a part. With intel how do you get datasheets on products? It's almost impossible. I'm just saying that this is the user experience. Maybe Intel likes it that way. It does't seem to hurt their business. Even Xilinx and Broadcom have customer support portals that enable you to get documents. But thanks for your support whether you work for intel or not. I appreciate that very much!

Hi Doc,

Maybe the intel website will become better. I've been using it for over ten years and it's always been a source of frustration for me. The question is whether it's a source of frustration for other people, I don't know. I just know it's hard to get information on parts from the Intel website. Nevertheless, Intel is one of our most successful companies and semiconductor companies, so they have done a lot of amazing things for the world and themselves! it is one of the world's greatest companies. Now if they can only make a world class website where you can easily get the specs and other information, that would be sensational.

Thanks,

Glenn

I have been using Intel's web site for ten years or more. I have seen the forum software change completely three, maybe four times. Each time the software changes, I hope for the best, but am prepared for the worst. So far, lowering my expectations as much as possible has not disappointed me.

You are not alone in your analysis of the site:

https://forums.intel.com/s/question/0D50P000041uBjXSAU/is-anybody-else-completely-dissatisfied-with-this-new-forum?language=en_US

Doc

Hi Doc, I think the best part of the Intel website is the forum. That they should keep. But make it simple to look up part numbers and request specifications. Look how TI does it as an example of the best in semiconductor websites. They don't have to reinvent the wheel here. Just make it easy to navigate and get information on parts. But I really appreciate you taking the time to help me, and you don't even work for intel!!

Thanks,

Glenn
