I'm having the same problem using Win XP. The processor is over a year old, perhaps 2, and up to this point every core check has shown 4 cores. Can't imaginee why this is happenig.

Sir, recently I noticed that in my windows 7 task manager there were only 3 cores in the performance bar (it used to be 4 before), while I have a core 2 quad processor . So I checked in the device manager but there also I saw only three processors . Then I used a well known tool called CPU-Z , even that shows that i have three processors !. I am quite worried about it . So please give me some help to recover my one processor .
