i7 4790 VS i5 7450 - for Premiere Pro

Hi guys,

So I had my i5 7450 (3.0 GHz) for sometime. Last week my friend gave me i7 4790 (4.0 GHz) as a gift.

I checked online and sow that the i7 got more score in all categories so I decided to switched but I was surprised that my Premiere Pro is working so much slower then before (when I had the i5).

Any thoughts?

Did you check with your motherboard/system manufacturer to see if the 4790 was supported by THEIR BIOS?

Yes, I also did a bios reset.

Something is not right. Your i7-4790 is on the boards compatibility list, but your i5-7450 is not, nor does it show up in on an intel processor search. Are you sure you have the cpu model number correct?

Sorry my bad, I didn't provide all the details.

When I got the i7 it came with motherboard (z97x-ud7 th), I've installed the rest of the parts from my old PC, reset the bios, install a fresh Win 10.

On my older PC I had the i5 with this motherboard Ga-b250m-ds3h.

So now I think to go back to i5.

What do you think?

Seriously, I am not sure what you have done. I can tell you the i5 is not on the approved processor list for your gigabyte board.
