No, I only have the 4gig that came with the computer. The memory card that came with the HP 200 G1 microtower is a: ELPIDA 4GB 1Rx8 pc3L-12800S-11-12-B4.

Both slots are marked; DDR3 1.5v std.

Both Crucial and A-Tech Components sent me memory sticks that did not work, the computer refused to boot up. I know the stick was properly inserted. The sticks that wouldn't work were: DDR3L 1600mhz pc3l-12800 2 rx8 non-ecc so-dimm 1.35 v and a DDR3 1600 mhz pc3 12800 2rx8 1.5v non-ecc so-dimm. 204 pin on both. Both companies claimed either one of these would work but they didn't.

I did find another recommendation that a 1333 mhz 1.5 volt is what is needed but not sure where I found that info at.

I am trying to add 4 gig of memory to my HP 200 g1 microtower and 2 different memory makers said I needed the following memory types, neither of which worked, my computer refused to boot up. They sent me. #1 type - DDR3L 1600 MHz PC3L-12800 2Rx8 1.35v Non-ECC SO-DIMM. #2 type- DDR3 1600 MHz PC3-12800 2Rx8 1.5v Non-ECC SO-DIMM. I noticed the socket for the memory is stamped DDR3 1.5v std. Intel site says I need 1333 MHz DDR3. Can someone give me the complete details for ordering the 4 gig memory stick? Been working on this for 3 weeks, getting disgusted. Thanks for any input. Lon Johnston

This is your system spec from HP

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04114896#AbT1

It specifically states:

2GB DDR3L-1600 SODIMM (1x2GB)

4GB DDR3L-1600 SODIMM (1x4GB)

8GB DDR3L-1600 SODIMM (2x4GB) (Dual channel)

The 4GB stick is DDR3L-1600 SODIMM (1x4GB).

If you have two of these sticks, you will have 8GB of memory.

Your processor supports 8GB of memory, and the specs clearly say "DDR3L 1333"

https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/76529/intel-pentium-processor-j2850-2m-cache-2-41-ghz.html

Check with HP for a bios update.

Make sure you have 2 sticks, 4GB each, of DDR3L 1333.

If you still have problems, contact HP for support.

HI, I have one more question. The memory that came with my HP 200 G1 microtower in slot #1 is labeled: Elpida 4GB 1Rx8 pc3L - 12800S -11-12 -b4. Both memory slots are marked DDR3 1.5v std. Is this compatible with which memory you stated? This is so confusing, the memory slots are marked 1.5v but the memory in the computer is marked with an L which I believe means 1.35 voltage. I am not a computer person but I have been doing my own work for 30 years, so please be patient with me. Everywhere i look I see different recommendations.

Yes, it is very confusing. Sorry to say, even if you told HP, they would not care.

Do you have 8GB working correctly now?

My bios is updated, that is, there are no updates available. I did find in the HP diagnostics that it says use ELPIDA 1333MHZ, no other info listed. So it looks like I need 1333mhz 1.5v std 204 pin DDR3 pc3L-12800-11-12-b4 memory stick to match the Elpida memory stick in slot 1. Is the 1Rx8 for the first mem slot and the 2rx8 for the second mem slot or are they interchangeable? not sure what that means? The ELPIDA memory stick says 12800 on it but the HP diagnostic says use 1333mhz. I can't find someone to make a hamburger the way I ask, I can only imagine the headaches all of this confusing info can cause.
