Upgrade my processor

I have a core i7-3520M processor in my laptop, and I want to change it for a newer generation processor, however I am not sure which processor meets similar size characteristics, other than the integrated core i7. I would appreciate your guidance

You may, or may not, be able to upgrade. If your processor is BGA-socketed, you cannot.

If your processor is PGA-socket, maybe:

However, if you can upgrade, it likely will make no reasonable difference in performance on a machine that is almost 10-years old.

But, if you insist, you must contact the laptop manufacturer and ask them what processors are compatible with their bios. Then you can select from those.

It's not worth upgrading a ten-year laptop in my opinion. I took good care of my laptop and it burned out after eight years - which beat the average lifespan of four to five years. Time for a new computer!
