topic Intel Pentium M (1.2Ghz) vs Intel Atom Z530 (1.6Ghz) in Mobile and Desktop Processors

I am trying to see if my accounting program will work on a netbook. I currently have a Dell Latitude X300 (Pentium M 1.2Ghz) and want to get a Inspiron Mini 1010 (Atom Z530 1.6Ghz). How do the two compare? Will I be able to run Peachtree Complete accounting and other programs like Microsoft Office on an Atom Processor or will it run too slowly? Thanks for any feedback.

Hello;

You can compare between the Intel Pentium M Processor 1.20 GHz and the Intel Atom Processor Z530 here:

http://ark.intel.com/Compare.aspx?ids=27601,35463 http://ark.intel.com/Compare.aspx?ids=27601,35463,

Also remember that the applications that you are trying to install will not only depend on the processor, also you have to take in consideration the memory and the operating system, I recommend to check if your new system will meet the minimum system requirement in order to run those applications this information usually is provide by the software vendor
