Many Other Devices in DeviceManager after install of Windows 10 21H1

I am attempting to reimage my system with Windows 10 21H1. After the clean installation, Device Manager shows many (97 total) 'Other Devices' all of which indicate that there is no device driver installed for the device.

In my Windows 10 2004 installation on this same PC, there were no 'Other Devices' in Device Manager.

Below are some of the hardware IDs of the Other Devices (the list is not exhaustive). They appear to be internal devices of the processor and/or chipset. Does anyone know where the device drivers for these devices can be found? (They obviously existed for the earlier version of Windows 10.)

1. After performing clean Windows 10 installation, you should start with installing the latest Chipset Software Version 10.1.18295.8201 and the Management Engine Interface Version 2047.100.0.1039. After installing both drivers reboot your computer.

2. This is a download page for all other drivers and BIOS for your board if needed.

Apologies for the delay in responding. Other issues with this reimaging have cause my PC to be unusable for a while.

Your links were very helpful and resolved my issue with the "Other Devices". Thank you very much.

Now if we could only find a way to get Microsoft to stop issuing buggy updates.... sigh!

Hi, I have exactly the same problem but with windows 11, but there isn't any chipset or management engine interface file to download.

Could you help me? Is it ok to download the same files ?

The weard thing is in Command Prompt at in systeminfo it says OS name: Microsoft 11 Pro but OS version: 10.0.22000 N/A Build 22000 .

@Ronaldus1407 You know there is an "edit" feature so you do not have to keep making multiple posts, right?

Also, this is a year old thread. You should have started a new thread.

Your motherboard manufacturer has a chipset inf for your board, which you should have used.

sorry I couldn't find so quickly the edit feature, but there is no chipset info file for the ROG Strix X299-E Gaming to download for windows 11 pro , only for windows 10. Maybe I should use the latest for Windows 10 64-bit ?

Use the chipset inf for W10, which you should have used after installing W11.

ALso, do you see the three vertical dots to the right of the post? Explore those to find the edit feature.

Ok, I now used the latest Chipset download for Windows 10 and nothing changed. Still dozens of "Other devices" in Device Manager that need drivers.

What is your processor model number?

Did you do a fresh install of W11 or upgrade from W10?

My Processor is a Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-7960X CPU @ 2.80GHz , Processor number i9-7960X

I bought the PC second hand with a digital licensed Windows 11 Pro on it . And I reset the computer, so windows 11 pro was installed afresh. So I don't know if it's a real fresh install or an upgrade from Windows 10.

Go here and create a W11 usb install stick:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11

Make sure your bios is updated.

Then, do a clean install. When doing the clean install, make sure you delete ALL partitions on the hdd/sdd you are installing on.

Make sure you have your W11 key, just in case

Backup any files you want to keep.

Make sure you have the W10 chipset inf from the board manufacturer.

After the install of W11, install the chipset inf. Do this before you do anything else.

Report back.

I have 2 questions. With "chipset inf" you mean the latest chipset download for Windows 10 ?

And I don't have a W11 key. I bought the Pc with Windows 11 pro digital licensed on it . What to do?

The chipset inf for W10 from the motherboard manufacturer.

Well, you should have a W10 or W11 key. If the key was supplied from your second hand source, it "should" be installed on the board. If not, you will need a W10 Pro key to proceed.

I did it and It's still the same.

It has in Device Manager under "Other devices"

97 "Base System Device" errors

1 "H100i v2" error

1 PCIData Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller

1 PCI Memory Controller

3 Performance Counters

1 SM Bus Controller

3 System Interrupt Controller

Now could it all be because the Watercooler doesn't work that good anymore . (Corsair H100i v2) ?

If so, I get a new CPU cooler next friday.
