A 11th gen Desktop CPU has the value "DDR4-3200" for the field "Memory Types".

So, if my memory (DIMM) operates in 3200 with XMP, but its native (JEDEC) speed is 2400, would it fail to work in 2400 with that Intel CPU ?

Hello dadado,

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities.

In this case, if the processor supports DDR4-3200 and the native speed of the RAM module is 2400MHz, you should not have any issues with it.

Keep in mind that altering the frequency and/or voltage outside of Intel specifications may void the processor warranty. Examples: Overclocking and enabling Intel® XMP, which is a type of memory overclocking, and using it beyond the given specifications (over 3200 MHz in this case) may void the processor warranty.

Let me know if you have any further concerns.

Best regards,

Steven G.

Intel Customer Support Technician.
