Hi all,

I tried to look through the internet for potential solutions to my issue but without any success unfotunately.

I have the i5 13600KF and Asrock Z690m-itx/ax motheboard and Intel Extreme Tuning Utility states that my platform does not support overclocking. Is there any option that I have to select in the BIOS to make overclocking possible?

1. My BIOS is in the latest version (11.02 straight from Asrock website)

2. My processor is clearly suitable for overclocking

3. I have 32GB of DDR4 memory at 3600 MT/s and I have selected XMP profile 2 in the BIOS and this is the only change that I've made in the BIOS so far.

4. Intel XTU is also in the latest version

I am running out of ideas what can I really check and I'm reluctant to start turning some options in the BIOS which I don't understand yet myself.

One of my ideas is to go back incrementally in the BIOS version until I will reach the first version that supports 13th gen processors on my Z690 board.

I am attaching a screenshot just in case, but the message there is straight forward.

Any suggestions?

Note: Make sure to mark the box that says "everything" before pressing the Scan button. After that, click on "Next>" and select "Save" and then, attach the .txt file.

sorry for not responding for some time now.

Below you can see the attached txt file from ssu tool.

But I think I've found the answer to my question on my own.

Seems like the motherboard vendor disabled some of the functions including OC via Intel XTU for some safety reasons (the motherboard has very poor cooling on the voltage regulators for the CPU). It is disabled since releasing the first version of the BIOS that supports 13th gen processors. Other people also reported this issue (I've found two threads on reddit).

But overclocking, undervolting (which was my point of interest) and some other changes are available via Asrock A-Tuning utility application or via BIOS without any limitation to be honest.

Still would prefer to do undervolting with Intel XTU but seems like there is no other option.

If you will be able to find the solution then please let me know!

No worries, thank you for the information provided.

Regarding what you discovered, it might be reason of the issue since Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility displays various controls and provides access to features based on the system's motherboard and processor configurations. Not all processors provide real-time support for all controls. Motherboard manufacturers can restrict access to various controls that prevent the user from overclocking those settings. You can actually find this information in this article, Issue: "Why am I missing tuning controls on my system?".

In any case, I could notice that your BIOS version is outdated, please update it to the latest BIOS version (11.02).

If you would like to investigate further with us, please perform that BIOS update and provide us a new Intel® SSU report so we can investigate it with your system up to date.
