ayyybaaan, Thank you for posting in the Intel® Communities Support.

In reference to your inquiry, it is important to mention that it is expected for the temperature to be high while playing games since they have a high demand for the computer's resources. The T-junction of the Intel® Core™ i7-13700K processor is 100°C, any temperature value lower or equal to that value is considered normal and expected for this unit:

https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/230500/intel-core-i713700k-processor-30m-cache-up-to-5-40-ghz.html

In order to rule out any possible hardware issue with the Intel® processor, please install and run the Intel® Procesor Diagnostic Tool, it does an overall test on the unit and if it passes the test, it means it is working properly:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/15951/intel-processor-diagnostic-tool.html?wapkw=processor%20diagnostic%20tool

Additionally, here you have "Overheating Symptoms and Troubleshooting for Intel® Boxed Processors" where you will be able to see further details on this topic:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005791/processors/intel-core-processors.html

I have an Intel i7-13700k being cooled by a 240mm AIO. My setup is not typical due to the AIO won't fit the top part of my system unit. What we did as a resolution is, my AIO is placed in the front making the front and the back an exhaust and the intake is coming from the top (with a 4070 TI not sure if my GPU matters). What should be my normal temperature cause i've read some threads claiming that i7-13700k will be normall really hot. My CPU temperature went 92 while playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 after playing like 3 games, immediately closed the game when I saw my temperature is 92. Is this normal? Or my ventilation should be fixed?

Air intake from above is certainly strange since hot air naturally tends to flow up. Have you tried whether, with the case fully open, the CPU still heats up?

In any case, the 13th gen certainly heats up more than the 12th gen. I am at present using an i9-13900F instead of my previous i9-12900F. With the same configuration of MB, fans and GPU, the average temperatures are up about 8-10 degrees Celsius, even in idle.

Thank you for all your replies. Sorry I got busy this week. I just decided yesterday to just buy a new case. Now I get like 60-70 Celsius whenever playing Call of Duty. I think it is now normal? Thank you guys for helping.

ayyybaaan, You are very welcome, thank you very much for letting us know those updates.

Perfect, excellent, it is great to know that you were able to buy a new case and now the temperatures are much lower and the computer is working properly. And yes, 60-70 Celsius are just normal and expected for this unit to function with no problems.

Any other inquiries, do not hesitate to contact us again.

Regards,

Albert R.

Intel Customer Support Technician
