What would you suggest for troubleshooting? If you suspect the processor, get a replacement or try a different (not the same) processor. If you cannot get past code 55, there is nothing much that can be done as far as diagnostics.

You could put the processor on another (DIFFERENT) motherboard, and see if it works there. But, the goal to all of this is to eliminate the processor as the problem, or verify that it is the problem.

This assumes the i9-13900K is supported by your motherboard bios.

CPU: Intel I9-13900K

Motherboard: ROG MAXIMUS Z690 EXTREME

Graphics Card: ASUS ROG-STRIX-RTX4090-O24G-GAMING

Memory: TEAMGROUP FF3D516G6600HC34BK
G.Skill F5-6400J3239G32GX2-TZ5RK
Corsair CMT64GX5M2X5600C40(Ver5.43.13)

I am trying to build a new computer with the above NEW components, but during POST, it gets stuck on Code 55, Detect Memory. I have tried several types of memory and even replaced the motherboard, nothing is getting me past code 55. Is it possible I have a bad CPU? or anyone got any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

That is the thing, I have been in contact with ASUS, on both motherboards. Replaced the first motherboard due to the Code 55, and the replacement board is doing the exact same thing. I have updated the BIOS to the latest greatest. I have tried several memory sticks. I have pulled everything except the motherboard, CPU, and ram cleared BIOS and slow booted. The only part that hasn't been swapped is the CPU.

Of course, if this doesn't fix it, it is likely a BIOS issue in their motherboard.

Okay this system is up and running. I had updated the Motherboard BIOS 4 days ago and it did not sole the POST code 55 error. After getting the new CPU i got the exact same error. Frustrated I went through all my troubleshooting steps AGAIN. When I got to the update motherboard BIOS I almost didn't, but checked and there was a new version out. Downloaded it and thanks to ASUS not needing a booted computer up do an update get the new Latest BIOS on to it. Now it works. So over a three day period they came out with a new bios that recognized the memory sticks their site said they were compatible with.

Hey dwpsco,

I just built my computer with the exact same board, CPU and memory. Turned all on got the exact same code. The problem I'm having is nothing is displaying on my monitor. cant see a bios or anything. just a black screen. So I guess my Question to anyone that would know is, did your screen show anything or did you do some kind of a bios update by downloading it then putting it on a thumb drive and then putting it in a USB port then fire up the computer?

Thanx

Sometimes I have the same issue with my Intel I9-13900K and Asus Z790-P motherboard even with the latest bios update (1663). In my case, I've empirically found that it's somehow related to my discrete video card and connecting a monitor to it. If I reconnect the monitor to the motherboard's HDMI port and change the memory configuration at the same time (e.g. just swapping dimms or removing one of them) I can break through the 55 POST code and then run the system. I can then shut down the system (or just sleep it), reconnect the monitor to the video card's HDMI port, and successfully pass the POST without the issue.
