Intel regularly holds Live Chat sessions where you can ask questions to their in-house experts on different emerging technologies. One such event solely on the new line of Core processors is slated to take place during the last week of February. I reckon you should put this question there for a complete answer.

http://intellivechat.com/edm.html http://intellivechat.com/http://intellivechat.com/edm.html facebook.html
Good luck.

I have a team of 40 people that I need to determine who needs a pc replacement. I have a list of family numbers, models, and steppings . But, I need to know hold old the processor is. I don't want to rely on the bios date. And I can't have them all download the processor identification tool. Where can I find a list of Family, model and stepping cross matching to processor name?

It can't really be done like that I guess you must have the CPU to know the family, model, and stepping so you must know the sSpec it will be on the CPU.

The family, model, and stepping is of no use to you without the sSpec.

If you send your list to me, I could try to give you a timeline of various family/models, different steppings within a family/model will be only estimates from what I can find. Pls make sure you include the full listing data of family/extended family, model/extended model.

You can reach me via email at mailto:shihjong.kuo@intel.com shihjong.kuo@intel.com
