Hello there!

Recently, BSOD appeared when I activated Intel Turbo Boost with my 13600KF.

The BSOD appears immediately when I start the computer with the Turbo Boost option activated.

I've already formatted the computer, I've done the Intel processor test and everything was ok. I also tried using the manual clock, I tried setting 48, 49, 50... But they all show the BSOD.

Setup:

Gibabyte B760M Aorus Elite - Bios F15
Geforce RTX 4070
32Gb DDR5

BSOD errors:

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP

IRQL_GT_ZERO_AT_SYSTEM_SERVICE

SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION

KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED

IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL

CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED

Just to you to know:

I bought it on 06/06/2023. Since then it has been working normally.
On 11/11/2023 there were some warmer days here in the city. I was monitoring the computer temperatures and it reached 90C and peaked at 100C when I was playing a game.

But after researching I saw that this was something normal for these processors, but I kept following to find a solution.

But it started to show a blue screen, it didn't last 10 minutes with the computer running and it showed the BSOD.

The solution was to disable the turbo boost and reduce the voltage to keep the computer stable, after I did this the problems stopped. However, the clock remained at 3.5 GHz, which frustrates me because 5 GHz is possible.

But I kept it that way to work and keep using it.

Temperatures remained at a maximum of 60C.
I had a 240mm WC. So I bought a bigger cabinet and a 360mm WC from Deepcool, and now the temperatures don't exceed 40 and 50C.

However, when I want to use all features of the processor, but... when I activate Turbo Boost the blue screen appears after booting.

I don´t know more about what I can do and I´m wondering to RMA.

Hello there!

So I made a clean windows instalation.

The bios is with the F15 Version, I´m worried about install the F16B because is beta.

I entered in RMA support for Intel and Gigabyte.

The Intel RMA asked for contact the Gigabyte Mobo and I was waiting a response.

Here´s what Gigabyte said:

This can be caused by a number of factors, including heating issues, voltage settings, or hardware/software incompatibilities. Since you have already tried several solutions and are still experiencing the problem, it may be helpful to check whether BIOS updates are available or consider getting professional technical assistance to diagnose and resolve the problem.

The image you sent shows the “Intel Extreme Tuning Utility” software interface. There are several adjustable options displayed on the interface, such as “Reference Clock”, “Core Voltage Offset”, “AVX2 Ratio Offset”, among others. There is an option to enable or disable “Turbo Boost Short Power Max” and adjust its limit. Another option allows users to enable or disable “Intel Overclocking Therm Velocity Boost”.

Based on my research, I found some information that might be useful:

Overheating is a common concern with the 13600KF. Some users have managed to reduce temperatures and avoid thermal throttling by increasing fan speeds, upgrading to a more powerful cooler, or undervoltaging the CPU.

The default Turbo Boost 2.0 settings for the Core i5-13600K are as follows: PL1: 181W, PL2: 181W, Tau: 33 seconds, ICCMax: 488A. It may be helpful to verify that these settings are correct on your system.

---

But I tried to use the default settings of the mobo and still happen the BOSD.

I´m thinking to reset the mobo and try everything from zero.

About the rma I´m kind of insecure if I don´t get this resolved and they still not resolving my problem.
