my CPU consistently reaches extreme temperatures under various circumstances. This happens when I'm gaming, running benchmarks (including Cinebench and Intel's official benchmark), and also when rendering videos using CPU-intensive codecs rather than relying on the GPU. I have HwInfo screenshots showing the CPU status before starting a render with Davinci https://prnt.sc/vZfWUykQkVCI and during the rendering process https://prnt.sc/dWH8p2AtC3u6. I have not performed any overclocking on any component, including the CPU. Despite the overheating, I haven't encountered any errors, crashes, or blue screens, i have attached the intel ssu log

Hello, I recently built a new PC and chose the Intel Core i9 13900k processor, here's my complete build:

ASUS ROG Strix NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090

Intel Core i9 13900k

CORSAIR DOMINATOR PLATINUM RGB DDR5 RAM 64GB

Corsair iCUE H170i ELITE LCD XT

Corsair RM1000x

ASUS ROG Strix Z790-H Gaming

Unfortunately, I'm having a problem with CPU overheating and thermal throttling and I can't quite figure out why. I have a good cooler, so this shouldn't be happening. In benchmarks, the temperature jumps to 100°C in just 0 to 1 second. I can also provide you with logs from Intel XTU if you tell me what you need.

Hello DavideRegna,

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities. I can imagine how frustrating this behavior is for you.

To help you with this issue, I would like to confirm the following:

1. Is the CPU overheating when using the benchmarks or other apps? If so, which apps?

2. Can you take a picture where I can see the temperatures?

3. Have you overclocked this CPU?

4. Do you get any errors, crashes, or blue screen of death?

5. Run the Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU) to gather more details about the system.

Download the Intel® SSU and save the application on your computer: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/18377/intel-system-support-utility-for-windows.html

Open the application, check the "Everything" checkbox, and click "Scan" to see the system and device information. The Intel® SSU defaults to the "Summary View" on the output screen following the scan. Click the menu where it says "Summary" to change to "Detailed View".

To save your scan, click Next and click Save.

Regards,

Deivid A.

Intel Customer Support Technician
