I doubt that it will actually include support for a chipset this old, but worth the shot. If no luck, I have an old version in my archive that should work, but it is too large to post here.

I have no idea whether softpedia has any versions of this driver package and I cannot recommend (as I do not trust) *any* of the driver download sites. I believe that 11.0.0.x drivers would be the lowest that provided support for Windows 10. The version that I use for my older (6, 7 and 8 Series) motherboards is 11.7.0.1045. I can provide this to you - If you trust me (a retired Intel engineer).

...S

I am sorry, but that's the oldest one that I saved with Windows 10 support. Unfortunately, in the release that I saved (which still supported the Z87 chipset my board has), I think Intel chose the release as a good time for removing support for older, no longer supported chipsets.

I do have a Z68 system on the shelf and will resurrect it and check what I did there to handle this issue. It may take me a day or two, however.
...S

It will be very cool, but I don't believe intel doesn't have support for chipsets and processors made before 2013.

Some archived drivers.... these things still work on Windows 10.
In my opinion, Intel is doing a shame, especially with the lack of drivers to work smoothly for two graphics cards, without lag (slippy) when moving the window of some programs like GPU-Z. But that's a side thread now.

Thanks ...S for your time. P.

First of all, I was checking my archive for earlier (i.e., 11.0.0.something ) Windows 10 versions, and found a copy of the 11.0.6.1194 package. I next got my Z68 system up and running (waiting the obligatory 2 hours that it took to finish running Windows Update). What I found was that it was running version 11.0.0.1157. I tried and successfully installed the 11.0.6.1194 package, so it should work for you. I have placed a copy of the installation package in the share.

Hope this helps,

...S

Thank you ...S!, it works.
Despite the error (below) during installation. The missing driver disappeared from Device Manager from Unrecognized Devices.
What's more, it appeared in System Devices, got its original native name Intel Management Engine Interface (iMEI) .
In summary, the ME_Consumer_Win7-10_11.0.6.1194 version corresponds to the absence of a driver for the PCI Simple Communications Controller for the Motherboard:
ASUSTeK Computer INC.
Model P8Z68-V GEN3 (LGA1155)
Version Rev 1.xx
Chipset Vendor Intel
Chipset Model Ivy Bridge
Chipset Revision 09
Southbridge Vendor Intel
Southbridge Model Z68
Southbridge Revision B3
Your solution works.

Admittedly, it does not solve the so-called slippery delay when moving the windows of some programs such as CPU-Z, but apparently this is not the problem.

For now, I strongly thank you for your time, and knowledge.

Sir @n_scott_pearson Scott,
I have the same problem as the friend above.

My processor is Intel® Core™ i7-3770K
MotherBoard: Asus P8H67-M Pro

and when I finished installing Windows 10 Pro, the driver described below was not installed:

PCI Simple Communications Controller
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C3A&SUBSYS_844D1043&REV_04

I searched many places on the internet and found many fake websites with suspicious and malicious driver downloads.

I'm glad I found the Intel website, but I still didn't find anything that helped.
I don't understand why Intel discontinues support for older processors like mine. This makes our lives very difficult. What does it cost to leave the older version in the current update package?

I downloaded the Intel® Management Engine Drivers for Windows 10* and Windows 11 and could not find the driver.

I downloaded the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant and after installing it, it had the nerve to say that my system was up to date, but it wasn't true.
Simply ignored the exclamation mark ( ! ) on the PCI Simple Communications Controller.

In your message you said: "I have placed a copy of the installation package in the share".

I didn't find a download link for this driver.

First of all, the Chipset Device Software (a.k.a. INF Update) package originally provided only the INF files that optimally configured the drivers for the chipset devices (which were provided as part of the Windows installation packages). The versions of the INF files embedded in the Windows installation provide a generic configuration for the device. If modifications to this generic configuration are necessitated by the design of the motherboard, then the motherboard manufacturer provides a modified version of the Chipset Device Software package that delivers these modifications. This is also why Intel does not post versions of these packages on their website; they do not want the manufacturers' configuration changes to be wiped out by the generic ones.

Secondly, the PCI Simple Communications Controller is actually the interface to the Intel Management Engine (ME). Older versions of the generic Chipset Device Software package (mostly the ones that provided only INF files) included an INF file that resolved the entry for the device but didn't install any driver to support it. This was simply to resolve the entry and eliminate the Yellow Bang on the device. Back then, users had little reason to access the capabilities of the ME, so no driver was necessary. Software that used the ME back then typically installed the real driver in the background. Things changed when support appeared within Windows itself for things like Digital Rights Management (DRM) and Platform Trust Technology (PTT, essentially a soft TPM). Because they needed this kind of support, later versions of the Chipset Device Software package left the device unresolved as the Intel Management Engine software package was also necessary and the motherboard manufacturers were responsible for this package's distribution as well.

So, to your issues,

It is absolutely correct for iDSA to say it is up to date. Why? Because you are supposed to install the Chipset Device Software and Intel Management Engine packages BEFORE ever installing iDSA. They are prerequisites for this process.

With the exception of the downloads for their own PC and Laptop products, Intel provided no generic Chipset Device Software or Intel Management Engine packages because the manufacturers are responsible for providing the versions specific to their motherboards.

I too do not understand why Intel removes the downloads for older, discontinued components - and I worked there for 21 years! When I asked, they pulled the Security card, saying that these older packages contained errata, security issues, etc. and etc. What. Hot. Garbage. They could have handled this with a disclaimer. I think that their customer orientation has suffered severely because they are unwilling to commit the manpower necessary to handle it properly and those assigned are so overloaded that they look for the things that are easy to let fall through the cracks.

I was providing access to a version of the Chipset Device Software package that were specific to the older Intel products. These are close to, if not exactly the same as, the generic versions of the packages. Here is a link to my OneDrive share where you can download the Windows 7 and Windows 10 versions of these packages: Other Legacy Drivers.

Hope that covers it; let's not debate this any further,

...S
