XTU undervolt protection error when overvolting?

I can't figure out why this happens? I could turn undervolt protection off but then I can't use XTU.

We sincerely regret you are experiencing issues with the Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility (Intel® XTU), we will be more than happy to assist you.

Please answer the following:

· Did it happen after an update?

· Have you made any recent software change?

Please make sure the BIOS is up to date (contact the system manufacturer) and run Windows update to keep it up to date.

We highly recommend reinstalling the Intel® XTU:

1. Locate installutil.exe at C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\InstallUtil.exe.

2. Locate XTU service at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Intel(R) Extreme Tuning Utility\XtuService.exe.

3. Using those pieces of information, open a command prompt as an admin and enter your information for the location of the Extreme Tuning service. (Your location may be different. An example is given below.)

C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\InstallUtil.exe /u C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Intel(R) Extreme Tuning Utility\XtuService.exe.

4. Delete any folder named Intel® XTU from these locations: C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel and C:\ProgramData\Intel.

5. Delete the folder named Intel Telemetry under C:\ProgramData:.

6. You may want to reboot your system (optional).

7. Download and install the Intel® XTU application.

Also, in order to have more information about your system, please download, install and run Intel® System Support Utility for Windows. Make sure you check “Everything” before you scan, then save the report and attach it to your response.

· Have you made any recent software change? No.

It works if I get rid of the overclock in the BIOS but I keep getting that error even if I just overclock the p-cores/e-cores with everything else set to default and everything is up to date.

Based on our research, please check the following findings:

You said: Got an error when using that command:

C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\InstallUtil.exe /u C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel(R) Extreme Tuning Utility\Drivers\XtuService.exe

In Windows command line when you want to pass/use a directory path as an argument it must be in "" when there's a 'space' in this path.

Command should work when it will look like this:

C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\InstallUtil.exe /u "C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel(R) Extreme Tuning Utility\Drivers\XtuService.exe"

I'm not sure if this command will work at all because it says to uninstall XTU service component which is running from this location (C:\Windows\SysWOW64\XtuService.exe) after installation. You still might see info about missing dependencies. I'd use a normal XTU uninstaller and eventually manually remove files from the Program Files XTU directory, and then install it again.

I've tested this command with XTU 7.13 and 7.14 - doesn't work when XTU service is running or stopped.

We would like to know, if all requirements for XTU are fulfilled? Specific Windows options are OFF and BIOS options ON at the same time.

I tried that command and it still wouldn't work, I pointed it to the "Framework64" folder instead of "Framework" and that worked, but I've still got the same problem after I reinstall XTU.

We would like to have one more log file, that way we can have more information about the issue. Please open Registry Editor:

1. Find HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software

2. Create a new Key named “Intel” under that node (if it doesn’t already exist).

3. Create a new Key named “XTU” under the “Intel” node (if it doesn’t already exist).

4. Create a new DWORD value under the “XTU” node called “LoggingLevel” with value 4.

5. Restart the XTU Service, or restart the computer.

6. Start XTU and reproduce issue.

7. Share new XtuCore logs available in C:\ProgramDate\Intel\Intel Extreme Tuning Utility\Logs

We will wait for it.

I done what you said and attached the log file, I have tried a fresh install of Windows 11 on another drive/same computer and still have the same problem, so that rules out it being a problem with any Windows settings I suppose, so I'm guessing it's something to do with XTU or the NZXT BIOS.

I hope you are doing well. Unfortunately, the submitted logs are the regular logs files not the more detailed information for us to conduct further investigate. We would like to request for another set of logs. Please see steps below for your reference:

Open Registry Editor

I'm not sure why that is, I done exactly what was said for regedit.

I haven't messed with XTU since the last reply so I did today and for some reason I don't get the error anymore, I haven't changed anything but it's working now, if I come across the issue again I'll let you know.
