To understand better, are you trying to know if your Intel® Core™ i5 processor 14600KF is affected by the 13th/14th Gen Unlocked Desktop Processor Stability Issues? if so, can you share more details of what's happening with your system PC?

It would be a great help if we could get more information about your system. Please download and scan your system using our Intel® System Support Utility. When the download is complete, launch SSU.exe.

Scan: Check the box Everything.
Click Scan.
Review: When finished scanning, click Next.
Click Save (.txt) and attach it as you reply.

Yes, your understanding is correct, I want to know if the Intel® Core™ i5 processor 14600KF is affected by the 13th/14th Gen Unlocked Desktop Processor Stability Issues.

I didn't experienced any issue yet, because I refrain myself from launching any CPU intensive tasks in fear it would damage the processor. So I want to know if this processor is affected or not, before launching any CPU intensive task.

So have you determined if this processor is affected by the issue or not?

Intel is aware of reports regarding Intel Core 13th and 14th Gen unlocked desktop processors experiencing issues with certain workloads. We’re engaged with our partners and are conducting analysis of the reported issues. Intel has performed analysis on affected processors and specific system settings and replicated the reported symptoms. Intel has observed that this issue may be related to out of specification operating conditions resulting in sustained high voltage and frequency during periods of elevated heat.

The reported system instability issues such as OS/Application errors, crashes, hangs, and BSOD on boards and systems with 13th and 14th generation Intel® K SKU (unlocked) processors are the signs/symptoms of the affected units.

In order to address this scenario while the investigation continues, Intel has recommended to system and motherboard manufacturers a set of ‘Intel Default Settings’ that was to be released around the end of May, 2024 for 13th and 14th Generation K Sku processors. Intel recommends using these settings and if there is no “Intel Default Settings” profile in your updated BIOS, individual settings noted in the table (from the attached link below) can be manually adjusted through the BIOS menu. We highly recommend contacting your motherboard manufacturer support team for the information and to get their assistance on how to adjust these settings in your particular BIOS.

June 2024 Guidance regarding Intel Core 13th and 14th Gen K/KF/KS instability reports - Intel Community

Adjust BIOS settings as follows:

Enable: CEP (Current Excursion Protection)

Enable: eTVB (Enhanced Thermal Velocity Boost)

Enable: TVB (Thermal Velocity Boost)

Enable: TVB Voltage Optimizations

Disable: ICCMAX Unlimited Bit

Set TjMAX Offset to 0

Enable: C-states

ICCMAX = 175A/200A

ICCMAX_App = 150A/170A

Power Limits (PL's)

PL1 = 181W (recommended)

PL2 = 143W/181W

Since the mentioned symptoms above us currently not happening on your system, we highly recommend to monitor, and make sure that everything is updated (OS (WIndows*, drivers, and firmware).

Thank you for your response. However, it does not address my question.

I would like to know if the data you have gathered indicates whether the Intel® Core™ i5 processor 14600KF is also subject to the same stability issues affecting the i7 and i9 processors of the 13th and 14th generations.

This is a general inquiry about the Intel® Core™ i5 processor 14600KF and its susceptibility to the aforementioned stability issues, not about my specific processor.

I run an 14th gen i5-14600KF and I can confirm they run unstable at default settings. I’ll try and adjust them now. But what a joke.

thank you for your answers.

My Asus motherboard has implemented Intel's default settings so this is what I have set.

What about memory XMP settings, should they be disabled ? Can they cause instability and degradation issues ?

Yes, higher ram speed can cause unstable because cpu can only support 5600mhz max.
Anything over will be unstable thats why ram is hard to mix in speed.

And I can confirm that 13600k is stable And have not any issues or failure.

Is it recommended to disable it ?

Yes, I have that chip. Sitting in a box waiting for Intel to accept returns. Any time I pushed it hard, I black-screen hard crash. Consistent and 100% repro rate.

Replaced it with an i7-12700KF and the problem completely disappeared. Hours of CPU testing, never crashed.

Witam. Od paru dni posiadam i5 14600KF z płytą główną Asus prime z690-p D4(najnowsza wersja BIOS). Procesor chłodzony jest Be Quiet Dark Rock 4 PRO i oczywiście najwyższej klasy pastą termo przewodzącą, ale niestety... Bez żadnego OC procesor ten w occt lub cpu-Z nagrzewa się w moment do 95-99°. Wszystkie wentylatoy w pc automatycznie wkraczają na FULL speed RPM... Jest okropnie irytujące. Poprzedni i7 12700k pracował z rewelacyjną kulturą. Błagam o pomoc.

I had some issues while playing graphic based games like The Last of Us Pt.1&2, and I monitored my temps and saw an average of 88-94 degrees on the cores, and a peak of 100 *which I'm not sure if that's the real peak temp or the max temperature that CPU Temp app can measure!*.

I have a DeepCool LT360 cooling installed and it was running at its highest RPM but as I monitored the Task Manager's Performance section, the CPU wouldn't cool down unless it clocked down to 80% power or lower.

This is the test results from your app, please tell if I should do anything to keep my very expensive CPU up and running for more than a few months!
