update my processor

I want to update my Laptop's processor to a more powerful one. I want to know if I even can, and what might I be able to update to. I'm thinking either a stronger dual core or a quad core processor. R laptopupgradeight now I have:

HP Pavilion g7 Notebook PC with windows 8.

Processor: Intel Pentium CPU B950 @ 2.10GHz

Intel 7 series Chipset family

If it wasn't obvious already, I'm not much of a computer person, if you need more info on what I have, just let me know. Thank you in advance.

Even though the processors are part of the same socket, I would suggest you to contact the manufacturer of the laptop so they can confirm that any of these processors will work in your unit.
