topic Intel Core 2 Solo SU3500 in Mobile and Desktop Processors

I found a small notebook I want that comes with the SU3500 processor. My confusion is whether it is a 32Bit or 64Bit processor. The OS that comes with it is XP Pro- Not the 64Bit edition. Several sites I have visited says this processor "supports" 64Bit processing. The specification page for this processor states "Intruction Set-64 Bit". Does that mean it normally runs in 32Bit mode? I would prefer a 32Bit procesor due to having quite a few older XP programs. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank-You

All Intel 64-bit processors are backwards-compatible and will run 32-bit Windows just fine
