Hello,
I’m using the Intel i9-13900K processor with the following specs:

Motherboard: PRIME Z790-A WIFI

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11 Home (64-bit)

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090

Cooling: Thermaltake Toughliquit 360

Thermal Paste: Thermaltake TG-30

Despite my best efforts to manage temperatures, I’m consistently experiencing high temperatures with this setup. During stress tests, my CPU reaches its maximum temperature, and in games like Valorant, the temperature fluctuates between 85-90°C. Even in Marvel’s Rivals, the CPU constantly hits maximum temperature levels.

I’ve kept all drivers and BIOS up to date. I also perform regular maintenance on my system every 6 months, including cleaning and reapplying thermal paste twice, yet the issue persists.

After researching online, I found that many people with the i9-13900K experience similar problems, and it seems that this may be somewhat common for this CPU. My question is: Is this normal for the i9-13900K, or is there something more I can do to resolve this overheating issue?

Additionally, I’ve been looking into Intel support in Turkey, but it seems there is no direct customer service or assistance here. I would like to know if there are any plans for Intel to provide customer service or support in Turkey, or if anyone here has experience contacting Intel’s international support.

Thank you in advance for your advice!

Hello Merich,

It is not necessarily a bad thing. Many Intel® processors make use of Intel® Turbo Boost Technology, which allows them to operate at very high frequency for a short amount of time. When the processor is operating at or near its maximum frequency, it's possible for the temperature to climb very rapidly and quickly reach its maximum temperature. In sustained workloads, it's possible the processor will operate at or near its maximum temperature limit. Being at maximum temperature while running a workload isn't necessarily cause for concern. Intel processors constantly monitor their temperature and can very rapidly adjust their frequency and power consumption to prevent overheating and damage.

You may also check this article for more information: Information about Temperature for Intel® Processors

Best regards,

Randy T.

Intel Customer Support Technician
