Hello Hehe1,

Returning a processor like the Intel Core i9-14900K without proof of purchase can indeed be a bit tricky. Generally, proof of purchase is necessary to confirm the warranty and start the RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) process. However, there are a few steps you can consider:

We often use the serial number to verify the warranty status. You can find the serial number on the processor itself or in any accompanying documentation.

By entering the serial number on Intel's website, you can check if your processor is still under warranty. This can be a helpful step in the process.

For detailed guidance on the warranty process, you can refer to the following articles:

14900K RMA

Before I call and speak to support this week I figured I’d ask here if it’s possible to RMA a 14900K without proof of purchase, as my uncle whom built this system as a gift has since passed & I was never able to get the box with the receipt from his home because it was thrown out. I’m having crashing games & web pages. I use this computer to provide for my family so it would be a major let down if I can’t have my processor situation looked into without PoP.
