[[ I couldn't find a proper location for this post, hence I chose this one ]]

I have NUC11 Extreme [RNUC11BTMi70002] chassis where the chassis LEDs gone OFF out of sudden!

Steps I tried with no luck:

1. Re-installed Intel NUC software Studio.

2. Pressed the LED button in the bottom of the case multiple times.

3.Turned-of the system, removed cable from the power for a long time.

4. Opened the chassis, checked all the connectors of the LEDs, nothing is disconnected.

I am not sure when exactly it went off.

They stay off all the time, not only post loading Windows.

Any idea what went wrong and how to recover from this?

"[NUC] How to Enable or Disable the LED Effects on the NUC 11 Extreme Kit NUC11BTMi[X] & NUC 12 Extreme Kit NUC12DCMi[X]

Resolution

There are two ways to enable or disable the LEDs.

1. In the application, NUC Software Studio, there is a slider to turn the LEDs off or on.

2. On the bottom of the system, next to the product label, there is a small button that can be pushed to enable or disable the LEDs."

https://www.asus.com/me-en/support/faq/1052329/

Also check cables inside the case.

First, check to see if you have ASUS Armory Crate installed? If not, don't necessarily install it, it's bloatware... has its uses, but you may not like it. If you already have it installed, check settings corresponding to syncing RGB devices...

Also, check (if running Windows 11) system settings > personalization > turn off Dynamic lighting.

Have you tried resetting the BIOS to defaults and turning off software control to see if the LEDs actually work? Does the power button light up? When you put your computer into sleep mode, is there any activity from the power button LEDs? Do they blink when the PC is in sleep mode?

I'd have to look it up when I have more time to see the actual arrangement of LEDs... is there a controller board? Or is it plugged directly into the motherboard?

Ping @n_scott_pearson

Regarding "ASUS Armory Crate", I had it before then removed it later on... I hate it! Could this happened when I removed it ??

Anyway, I don't want to install it again...

I turned off Windows Dynamic lighting, also installed the latest BIOS update: https://www.asus.com/supportonly/nuc11btmi7/helpdesk_bios/

Also, I installed new instance of Windows 11 Enterprise.. installed Intel NUC Software Studio -> Same result.

I found this while searching: [NUC RGB] https://github.com/AlvinZhu/nuc_rgb Have you tried it?

I am not sure if I am doing it wrong, or the needed library is missing...
