Hello,

My HP Elite Book laptop runs Windows 10. It has an Intel Core i5-7300U CPU @ 2.6 GHz. To configure my computer for Windows 11, Microsoft tells me that my processor must have, at a minimum, the following configuration: 1 GHz or faster, with 2 or more cores, and one that is on our list of approved processors. Could you please tell me if my processor is suitable for Windows 11? If not, could you please tell me if I can upgrade my current processor to run Windows 11? Best regards,

Microsoft publish a list of supported Intel processors for Windows 11 that can be found here Your processor is not on the list.

There is a third-party utility called Rufus that may help you install Windows 11 despite the status of your CPU. Rufus is a utility that helps format and create bootable USB flash drives and can be downloaded from the Rufus website . There are plenty of online guides on using Rufus to install Windows 11 in your scenario such as this one .

The alternative of upgrading the CPU even if if could be done is still likely to restrict your to a choice of processors none of which will be on Microsoft's compatibility list for Windows 11.
