I tried to do this but I don't get any beeps, and the screen remains black with the fan running at full blast. I just have the Shift key blinking. I also tried with a USB stick. It worked and the recovery screen appeared but after getting the message that it was repaired with 500 behind, the laptop started looping again. I will try to contact HP, if you have other solutions, thank you in advance!

I have a boot problem on my Elitebook 820 from HP, the computer restarts in a loop with the manufacturer's logo. I tried to go into the bios to see if the problem was not there, I reset the factory settings and after a while I came across "System is currently in ILLEGAL state". I restarted it and it restarts again and again. I even tried F11, it showed a reboot option but it didn't change anything... I even clear the TPM

Hello Omegamax,

Thank you for posting in the community. It seems you're experiencing issues with your HP laptop. This concern may require attention from HP, your laptop manufacturer. However, I found a similar issue with a potential fix in an HP community thread that might be helpful. If this solution does not resolve the problem, I recommend contacting HP for further assistance.

Best regards,

Dhanniel M.

Intel Customer Support Technician
