I want to change a processor in my laptop. I suck at knowing about electronics, but I've done research and I've found out that my laptop can get it's processor changed. My laptop has 13 years, It's a samsung laptop, the model is NP310E5C-A01PL. Currently it has it's original processor which is Intel Core i3 3110M, 2.40GHZ. I want to change it to Intel Core i5 2450M 2x2.5GHZ. They have the same socket which is 988B rPGA. I wanted to be sure so I contacted samsung support, but the guy said that he does not have any information about processors and I should ask intel. The intel support is unavaiable for now, so I'm asking the community. If it doesn't fit or yall have any other recommendations, like better processors, please tell me. Thank you.

Youi need toi find out if the samsung bios will support whatever processor you select that is socket compatible.

Frankly, on s machine as old as yours, this will not help you any. Recommendation? Get a new(er) laptop with an 8th gen or later processor.

Doc (not an Intel employee or contractor)
[W10 is this generation's XP]
