We all know the importance of hyper-threading (HT) for processors. My laptop is equipped with an i5 9300H, which has 4 cores and 8 threads. If hyper-threading is disabled, it's almost unusable for both office tasks and gaming. However, since the 12th generation, E-cores have removed hyper-threading, and even PE-cores in Arrow Lake have eliminated HT. Arrow Lake doesn't have high power consumption—the 285K model scores 43,000 in Cinebench R23. I estimate that if HT were restored for all PE-cores, the score would reach 53,000. AMD's Ryzen processors have gained significant multi-threading performance through hyper-threading: the 9950X, with only 16 P-cores, matches or even surpasses 24-core i9 and Ultra 9 processors. Will HT make a comeback in the future?

Hello 金明诚,

Please be advised that Intel has removed Intel Hyper-Threading Technology in newer processors to enhance efficiency and security, and has introduced E-cores and P-cores as part of this advancement. Please share our article titled "No Hyper-Threading (HT) for Intel® Core™ Ultra Processors (Series 2)" for further details.

Additionally, we currently do not have information on whether Hyper-Threading (HT) will be reintroduced in the future. However, we value your input and will pass your feedback along to our design team.

If you require help in the future, please submit a new inquiry, as this thread will no longer be monitored.

Sincerely,

JeanetteC.

Intel Customer Support Technician
