i have a lenovo loq 15irx10 with the i7 14700hx and the apo application gives me failed to connect error. i have the dtt drivers as provided by lenovo (driver version 9.0.11701.44281). in device manager under software components i found:
-Intel(R) Dynamic Tuning Technology Device Extension Component
-Intel(R) Dynamic Tuning Technology Updater Component
and under system devices i found:
-Intel(R) Innovation Platform Framework Extensible Framework
-5 separate Intel(R) Innovation Platform Framework Generic Participant
-Intel(R) Innovation Platform Framework Manager
-Intel(R) Innovation Platform Framework Processor Participant
(to my understanding of apo, ipf is needed as well which is why i listed these)
bios is updated to the latest, in fact all drivers are updated to the latest except for the integrated gpu drivers which are 1-2 updates late. dtt is enabled in bios as well. so far ive tried:
-uninstalling the lenovo dtt drivers and installing asus and xmg dtt drivers (with reboots between uninstalling and reinstalling) , both of which gave me the same result which is failed to connect even after apo reinstall.
-uninstalling the lenovo dtt drivers and reinstalling them (with reboots between uninstalling and reinstalling) using the installer as well as device manager add driver after apo reinstall.
-going into bios disabling dtt saving and exiting then going back into bios and enabling dtt again with apo reinstall.
-installation of management engine drivers 2514.7.16.0 using the installer found in the Main_DCH folder (saw in a youtube video that this might help, it didn't)
i don't have the most recent windows 11 update due to the "ssd killer" (KB5063878) update and i don't want to risk my ssd no longer being usable.
apo should be supported by lenovo as within the extracted dtt driver files there are 2 files with apo in their name being ApoProvider.dll and apo.config, unless these refer to a different apo

Hi @thesavageboiii,

Thank you for posting here in our community. To effectively diagnose and address the issue you're experiencing, I kindly ask you to provide detailed responses to the following questions. This information will help us isolate the problem and determine the most appropriate course of action.

Please provide the SSU log report and share it here so I can review your system's configuration.

What specific error message does APO display? (exact wording/error codes)

Are you running APO as Administrator?

Do you see any DTT-related processes in Task Manager?

Any relevant errors in Windows Event Viewer (System/Application logs)?

Does Device Manager show any warning/error icons on DTT components?

Have you tried APO with different power profiles (Performance vs Balanced)?

Is Secure Boot enabled in BIOS?

Based on the observed symptoms and initial troubleshooting, the issue appears to stem from a combination of Windows version incompatibility and service communication failure. APO functionality relies on specific Windows 11 framework updates, which may be missing in the current build. However, I need to confirm this, as there have also been reports of issues with the latest OS build version.

I look forward to your response and am committed to resolving your issue promptly.

Best regards,

in order of the questions asked:
-i've provided ssu logs without 3rd party logs (can provide if those are needed)
-sent screenshot of error message
-error appears when running as admin and not running as admin
-there are no dtt related processes in task manager
-sent screenshot of apo error log in event viewer but couldn't find anything dtt related specifically
-the Intel(R) Dynamic Tuning Technology Device Extension Component is working properly and Intel(R) Dynamic Tuning Technology Updater Component says no drivers are installed for this device
-using the lenovo loq profiles (quiet, balanced, performance, custom) still gives me the error
-secure boot is enabled in bios
and if it helps for you to know which windows update i have, i've sent a screenshot of the "Uninstall updates" part of settings

Hi @thesavageboiii,

Some system manufacturers may not have the latest Intel® DTT to utilize the Intel® Application Optimization with Advanced Mode. If a version of Intel® DTT 11405 or later is not available, Intel® Application Optimization may not install or may install without Advanced Mode support.

Update the Intel® DTT driver to the latest version (11405 or newer). Visit your system manufacturer's website to find the latest version available.

NOTE: Some system manufacturers may not support Intel® DTT or the latest driver update. Contact your system manufacturer for assistance.

Last option that we can try: If the issue persists, check your system for remote or virtual desktop applications that may interfere with Intel® Application Optimization. These can be found in Device Manager under Display adapters or turn off Windows Virtual Machine settings under Turn Windows features on or off'.

Hello @thesavageboiii,

Thank you for confirming the details. Since this is an OEM (Lenovo) device, please keep in mind that our support may be limited, as we are not fully familiar with the specific technologies, settings, custom drivers, and features that Lenovo has designed and preinstalled on your system. That said, kindly visit your system manufacturer's website to find the latest version available. However, I think that the Lenovo-provided DTT driver version 9.0.11701.44281 is newer than version 9.0.11405, as you mentioned.

As mentioned by my colleague @RandyT_Intel, some system manufacturers may not support Intel® DTT or the latest driver update. Contact your system manufacturer for assistance. Since only the Intel® UHD Graphics and NVIDIA adapter appear under Display Adapters, and you’ve already verified that the Virtual Machine Platform feature is disabled, the next step is to focus on the Intel® Dynamic Tuning Technology (Intel® DTT) driver.

Best regards,
