Hi @her-uriel,

Thank you for taking the time to review the articles. As mentioned, processors do not operate at their maximum frequency at all times. The frequency adjusts dynamically based on workload demand. If the demand is high and there are no physical limitations, the processor may reach or approach its turbo frequency.

Several factors can affect performance, including system temperature, cooling solution, power supply, and workload type. If you've observed a drop in performance while using benchmarking tools, these factors may be contributing.

Please note that I cannot comment on or interpret results from third-party benchmarking tools. I recommend running the Intel® Processor Diagnostic Tool (IPDT) to check for any CPU-related issues. Unfortunately, I’m unable to recommend also using Intel® XTU for stress testing, as your processor is not listed as supported. Therefore, I rely on IPDT for diagnostics.

Additionally, since you’ve reviewed the article, could you please confirm the PL1 and PL2 values in your BIOS? These should match the processor’s specifications. If you continue to see lower-than-expected readings and your processor is soldered to the motherboard, I suggest contacting your system vendor for further assistance. I can only support replacement if the processor is a boxed unit.

Best regards,

Randy T.

Intel Customer Support Technician

hello
i bought msi sword 15 with intel core i7 12650 h - 3070ti laptop 3 years ago and since then i have an issue related to low frequency response (2.7 up to 2.8 ghz avg and 3.2 maximum ) as the specifications show the cpu should go up to 4.7 ghz under turbo circumstance .
i have contacted msi support so many times but they cant help. i have used this solutions which unfortunately were not useful.
1- ec reset

2- os reset

3- driver and bios update

4-power plan settings

5- removing any unwanted app or background service

6- bought a new power adapter wich its output is more than the initial power adapter the loptop had .

7- etc ...

i gave up and went to use undervolt and imon tweak against my will.
during tweaking i recognized wierd settings that showed both p- core and e-core frequencies are set to 2.3 ghz base . the intel turbo technology is enabled .

basically the tweaks were :
bios ctrl+shift+alt+f2 to enter advanced mode
head to overclock scroll don to cpu overclock lock- disable the lock-power then to power management / p-core offset voltage to -150 mv
then to ring in the section - ring voltage offset to -40
power managment - cpu vr setting then core vr settings - imon slop to 50 and imon offset to 31999.
the frequency went a bit higher to maximum 3.9 but still this is not what the cpu should do.

i did some benchmark just to have enough documents .
1- cinebenchmark with cpu multithread test 550 points ( way below what it should have )

2- userbenchmark with overall 36% suitable for gaming do to low frequency and can not handle 3d games

3- cpu z stress test to monitor cpu load and frequency in task manager .(maximum 3 ghz under 100% load )

I'll be glad if any one can help.

Thank you for reaching out to Intel Customer Support. Processors do not run at their maximum frequency all the time. The processor automatically selects the best frequency depending on the workload demand. If workload demand is high and there are no physical constraints, then the processor may operate at or close to the turbo frequency.

Dear customer service
thanks for replying
I have already checked the articles you have kindly mentioned .
Non of the reasons mentioned are currently on the line . Unfortunately after several benchmarking and putting cpu on the full load ,I didn’t achieve the frequency needed on the turbo mode . Maximum frequency reached after overclocking was 4.2 GHz . Indeed it is not the frequency which processor should give .
