Hello Intel Support Team,

I have a Lenovo laptop with an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H running Windows 11 24H2 (Build 26100).
The CPU includes the Intel AI Boost NPU, but ONNX Runtime in Python does not detect the `WindowsNpuExecutionProvider`.

Currently, ONNX Runtime shows only:
['DmlExecutionProvider', 'CPUExecutionProvider']

I have:
- Windows 11 24H2 (build 26100)
- ONNX Runtime DirectML 1.23.0
- Intel Graphics and NPU drivers up to date
- Windows App SDK 1.8.2 installed

However, Windows.AIRuntime is not yet available via Windows Update or Microsoft Store on my device.

Could you please confirm:
1. When Intel plans to enable NPU support (Windows AI Runtime / driver) for the Core Ultra 9 185H?
2. Whether any additional Intel driver or SDK is required to expose the NPU to Windows and ONNX Runtime?

Thank you for your help.

Hi ivo3,

Thanks for reaching out to the Intel Community Forum. I appreciate your message and I’m here to help. To better understand what’s going on and provide accurate support, could you please share a bit more info:

Are you using the standard ONNX Runtime package?

Have you tried running the app as Administrator to see if the NPU gets detected?

What do you see when you run dxdiag — does it show any AI acceleration features?

Have you checked Windows Update for any pending “Optional updates” or driver updates?

Have you looked into Windows Features to see if any AI-related components can be enabled?

Also, to help us get a clearer picture of your system setup, it would be great if you could share the Intel® System Support Utility (SSU) logs. These logs give us important details about your hardware and software environment, which are super helpful for troubleshooting.

Here’s how to do that:

Download and run the Intel® SSU tool.

The tool will generate a text file with your system info.

You can follow this Help Guide for the Intel® System Support Utility for step-by-step instructions

Once done, just attach the file to your reply.

If you have any other questions or need help with anything else, feel free to reach out.

Best regards,

Kent Russel P.

Intel Customer Support Technician
