1. I am using the Corsair ICUE H150i Elite Capellix XT Liquid CPU Cooler - AF120 RGB Elite Fans - 360mm Radiator

2. The only other apps I'm running are discord. maybe a browser or something. I'm not streaming or anything.

3. I have an asus motherboard and it's updated to the latest Version BIOS of Version 3001

i am using icue to control the 6 fans and aio pump. The 3 front fans mounted behind the 360mm radiator are set to a fan curve based on the Sensor intel core i9 14900k package. I have 3 exhaust fans2 up top and 1rear. Those are set to the sensor 4080 super temp 2. I have the aio pump set to extreme. i think the only thing i changed in bios was enabling xmp 1

4. the current idling cpu temps shows package temp at 45 deg C

5.100 deg during extended gameplay. after launch it shoots up to around 85-92 deg C

I just received a replacement I9 14900k chip from intel. I installed the new chip. I applied the thermal paste and reconnected the 360 AIO.

Running Battlefield 6 on 1440. the icue app is telling me I'm hitting 100 deg C on package temp and 79% load. The core temps range from 81 deg C to 92 deg C.

Is this normal temp for this chip? I didn't get any crashing or lagging or anything but I'm curious what is normal temps for this chip?

Hello RidgeT,

Thank you for reaching out and for sharing those details.

It’s great to hear that your system is running smoothly with the replacement Intel® Core™ i9-14900K processor. Under heavy workloads such as gaming especially titles like Battlefield 6 it’s normal for the processor to reach high temperatures, sometimes approaching 100°C, even when using a high-performance AIO cooler.

The Intel® Core™ i9-14900K is designed to safely handle these temperatures. As long as you’re not experiencing any thermal throttling, crashes, or performance drops, your system is performing as expected.

However, to better understand your setup, could you please provide the following details:

What CPU cooler model are you using, and how is it mounted?

Do you have any other applications running while playing Battlefield 6?

Are your BIOS and fan curve settings set to default or customized?

What are your CPU temperatures when idle?

When it reaches 100°C, does this happen right after launching the game or during extended gameplay?

Once we have this information, we can provide more specific guidance.

Regards,

John M.

Intel Customer Support Technician
