      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;a href="https://community.intel.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/459876"&gt;@Jesse_ethon&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;STRONG&gt;It is more than socket compatibility.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/STRONG&gt; &lt;STRONG&gt;The OP must make certain that the HP bios supports the processor first.&lt;/STRONG&gt;&amp;nbsp; And, W11 is only supported on 8th gen an later processors.&amp;nbsp; Yes, you may be able to hack your way to running on a 2nd gen processor, but what will you do for a video driver?&amp;nbsp; There is not one for W10, and certainly not for W11.&amp;nbsp; Yes, there is the Microsoft generic driver, which has limitations.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Regurgitating answers from others is pretty lame.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Doc (not an Intel employee or contractor)&lt;BR /&gt;[CoPilot is a virus]&lt;/P&gt;</description>
